Thank you for supporting our annual spring fair which was all about sports and activity this year. From darts, ling jump and speed bounce, to football shoot outs, basketball and bottle flipping - it was great to see so many of you getting involved.

You helped our PTA to raise £400 which all goes towards helping make Roach Vale the best it can be. Thank you!

We had a fantastic afternoon competing in the sunshine for our annual sports day. Thank you to everyone who came along to support our young athletes!

We are so proud of Rume in Y5 who represented Roach Vale at the Essex Cross Country final on 25th March 2026. Rume competed against hundreds of children to take 41st place. Congratulations Rume!

This week was Science week and we spent the week being curious! Throughout the week the children explored the theme of curiosity through experimentation. Our youngest pupils found ways to make a carrot float, others looked at building strong skeletons and our oldest pupils investigated how to make the most effective paper launcher. We even had a visit from Colchester Academy to learn about refraction. Even Flick got in on the action by visiting year 1 and stealing a carrot snack from their floating experiment!

Once again, our wonderful pupils showed off their creative side on World Book Day 2026. The theme was 'reading for pleasure' so we invited everyone to get comfy and cosy in pyjamas or be creative with a costume. We spent the day sharing our favourite books, enjoying a 'reading buffet' and stopping everything to read whenever the bell rang.
