Paying for School Meals
A school meal costs £2.85 and should be paid for in advance. Children select their meal choice during morning registration each day. Please note that if your account enters into arrears, we may not be able to provide a meal to your child. If you need any support with using the app or paying for school meals, please see our office staff who will be happy to help. Your child may be entitled to free school meals, please read the information below and let us know if you believe you are eligible.
Free School Meals
Infants
Children in reception, year 1 and year 2 automatically get free school meals. This is called Universal infant free school meals (UIFSM) and you do not need to apply for it.
Children in Year 3 and above
From the start of the 2026 to 2027 academic year, FSM eligibility applies to all children from households in receipt of Universal Credit regardless of household earnings. Free school meals are available to pupils in receipt of, or whose parents are in receipt of, one or more of the following benefits:
- Universal Credit
- support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
A pupil is only eligible to receive a free school meal where both:
- a claim for this support has been made
- their eligibility has been verified by the school where they are enrolled or by the local authority
Households may also be entitled to a meal if they:
- are in receipt of income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- receive the guarantee element of Pension Credit
- meet criteria set out in separate guidance for families with no recourse to public funds
