At Roach Vale Primary, we are proud to offer a rich and engaging Forest School programme that brings learning to life in the great outdoors. Every other half term, each class swaps one of their weekly PE lessons for dedicated Forest School sessions—giving our children the opportunity to explore, discover, and grow in a natural setting.
Our sessions are led by a fully qualified Level 3 Forest School Leader, supported by a member of staff who holds a Level 3 Learning Outside the Classroom qualification. Together, they create a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment where children can take risks, develop resilience, and build confidence.
Our extensive Forest School area includes a log circle for storytelling and group activities, a rope swing that encourages physical challenge and coordination, and a wide range of trees and natural fauna that provide endless opportunities for exploration and discovery.
We believe that Forest School is more than just outdoor play—it’s a powerful way to nurture curiosity, promote well-being, and support children’s holistic development. From teamwork and problem-solving to a deeper connection with nature, the benefits of Forest School are far-reaching and long-lasting.
At Roach Vale, we’re committed to giving every child the chance to thrive—both inside and outside the classroom.
