We pride ourselves on offering children the chance to learn responsibility, teamwork and independence by taking on roles within school life that help prepare them for life in modern British society. As children move through the school they have opportunities to take on increasing repsonsibility.

Year 6 students are invited to apply and interview for the role of Roach Vale Amabassador. This is our most coveted role as it holds the most responsibility. Ambassadors must be role models to their peers and a shining example of what we expect from our pupils. They conduct school tours, support new students, represent the school in the community and are always on hand to help the headteacher with additional repsonsibilities.
Year 5 students are invited to apply for the role of Play Leader. Our Play Leaders help other children to enjoy their lunchtimes by leading games and being a buddy to those needing a friend. They also help our team of Midday Assistants to ensure everyone can eat their lunch in a calm, efficient lunch hall.
We hold school council elections in September every year where children are invited to share a short presentation with their class to help everyone decide who to vote for. Each class holds a democratic, private vote to elect their school council representative. The council meets throughout the year to work on projects and discuss topics that are important to their peers.
